So don't fucking let them down. Don't keep giving in and telling yourself it's inevitable that you'll fail, that there's no such thing as losing because it's not a thinking opponent or you already lost or whatever other Lightdamned excuse you've come up with.
I've been there. It takes a lot less energy if you live down to everyone's expectations but you don't get very far.
